Sicario besutan Denis Villeneuve 3 tahun lalu menjadikannya sebagai salah satu film bertema kartel narkoba terbaik yang pernah dibuat. Pace nya pelan dengan penceritaan yang solid membuat Sicario saat itu banyak dipuja-puja kritikus film. Selang 3 tahun kemudian, Villeneuve mewariskan karyanya kepada Stefano Sollima (All Cops Are Bastards) bersama Taylor Sheridan yang tetap setia bertanggung jawab terhadap naskah.
Sicario : Day Of The Soldado bercerita tentang Perang narkoba di perbatasan AS-Meksiko telah meningkat sebagai kartel termasuk serangan teroris melintasi perbatasan Amerika Serikat. Untuk melawan perang, agen federal Matt Graver (Josh Brolin) kembali bekerja sama dengan Alejandro Gillick (Benicio Del Toro).
Masih menduetkan Josh Brolin (Avengers : Infinity War) dan Benicio Del Toro (Sicario), sekuelnya ini diharapkan mampu menyamai kualitas film pertamanya meskipun tanpa tangan dingin Villeneuve lagi.
Belum ada kepastian apakah film ini akan mendarat di bioskop di Indonesia.

There are great things in the movie. The directing, cinematography and score are all on point (just like the first film). The action scenes are intense and effective, and even the scenes in between had me interested. The setup and introduction to the mission work pretty well, and you feel the weight of the situation. Day of the Soldado But unlike SICARIO, SOLDADO doesn’t nail the motivations of the characters. Benicio Del Toro’s motivation is just a continuation of the first film, but this time around it just felt weak and lazy. In the beginning of the film, they make it pretty clear that Josh Brolin is an absolutely terrible human being (even more so than in the first film), so I could buy into his motivation of just wanting to do bad stuff a little bit more, since it felt very consistent with the character while also doing something different than the first film

Discovering Mexican gangsters sneaking a Muslim warrior into the United States, the CIA sent out two agents Matt Graver (Josh Brolin) and Alejandro Gillick (Benicio del Toro). They kidnapped a daughter of a tycoon to provoke gangs to pay each other, but were spotted by the Mexican government.
